One of our biggest goals with the BIBS Baby Feeder was to help families turn mealtimes into culinary adventures. While we can’t exactly claim to have made tidying-up fun, we’ve done our utmost to make the Feeder (and Freezer Tray) limit spills and be as easy and quick to clean as possible. In this guide, we’ll walk you through exactly how to clean your BIBS Baby Feeder step-by-step.

The Very First Thing

Before you hand over the feeder to your little one, it’s essential to check that your BIBS Baby Feeder is in perfect condition with no tears or damage. If you spot any issues, replace the faulty part before use.

  • Completely disassemble the Feeder and thoroughly clean each part in warm water with a drop of mild soap. This applies to the Freezer Tray and its lid too.
  • To properly sanitize the Feeder, bring a pot of water to a boil and place the silicone nipple inside for 5 minutes.
  • Carefully remove the nipple using tongs or a slotted spoon and let it air dry. Shake off any excess water before reassembling.

Now you’re ready for mealtime!

Everyday Cleaning: How to Clean Your BIBS Baby Feeder Daily

After every use, it’s important to know how to clean your BIBS Baby Feeder thoroughly to ensure safety and hygiene. Once your little one is done munching, all leftover food should be removed immediately. Remember, the Feeder is not for food storage — use the Freezer Tray for that. The Feeder cap is designed to protect the nipple after cleaning, not to hold food.

For regular cleaning, you can either:

  • Hand wash the Feeder and nipple with warm water and mild soap.
  • Place the Feeder body (not the silicone nipple) on the top rack of your dishwasher.

While daily sterilization isn’t required, a deeper clean can be helpful. For this, try the scalding method: place the nipple in a clean bowl and pour boiling water over it. Let it cool and dry completely. You may also use the boiling method, though it’s best not to do this daily to preserve the nipple’s durability.

Important: Do not microwave or use electronic sterilizers on any parts of the Feeder or Freezer Tray.

How to Store Your Cleaned BIBS Baby Feeder

Once cleaned, store your BIBS Baby Feeder and Freezer Tray in a cool, dry place, away from sharp objects, direct sunlight, or heat sources like stoves and ovens. Proper storage keeps your Feeder clean and safe between uses.
